In July 2021, I attempted a Southbound thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650 mile trail from Canada to Mexico along the rugged interiors of Washington, Oregon, and California. Sadly, I only made it to Southern Oregon before widespread forest fires closed the trail down.
